Inspiration For A Science Project
What do you want to know? This is the question that you should ask yourself when looking for a topic to study for your science fair. It is always better to start with something that you are curious about. This way, the science project will not merely be another school requirement. It would be something that will engage your interest fully and it would be something from which you can learn something new. For instance, if you are a health nut and you want to make sure that you are eating healthy food and have a balanced diet, then you may want to study the nutritional content of the food that you usually eat. You can then design a menu for the whole month that will give you exactly the nourishment that you need. On the other hand, you can prove or disprove the authenticity of common lore. For instance, there has been a study on whether the belief that a piece of food that fell on the floor is still clean if it is picked up immediately. You can find your own lore to study. How about common practices of getting stains out of clothes? That is to say, why use warm water when washing certain types of clothes and stains and cold water on others? You can also even study whether washing machines can really clean clothes. At the end of such a study, you can prescribe a certain type of washing machine - say one that washes clothes better than others because of its motion and mechanism. Seek Advice It is entirely possible, however, that your tentative topic is totally inappropriate to your grade level. It is also possible that it is something that you'll find very hard to study. For this reason, it is better to seek the advice of your science teacher before you go ahead with your science fair project. You can also refer to the internet for possible alternatives or modifications to your chosen topic or for appropriate methodologies and research design.
